Of course you're going to have a closet full of bathroom cleaner, furniture polish, and refills for your swiffer.  But we think every girl (or boy) should have a kit in the linen closet with all the basics necessary to keep the house looking pretty or to make a small repair on the fly.

Our Love Affair with Chairs

For me, dining chairs have always been the quiet heroes of a room.  A dining chair can signal a design era, and can be a small to medium sized investment that packs a lovely punch in a well-designed room.

A vintage rug can insert warmth, character and charm into any space. A perfectly aged rug is our favorite design element for pulling together a room and making it feel complete.

Collectors at Heart | Vintage Silver

We think the secret to creating a good collection is in not just amassing something in volume, but in collecting individual pieces you appreciate for their unique qualities.   Often we'll find one of the shop girls going through each christening cup in a large bin, admiring back stamps and monograms.

Splitting the Difference

Splitting the Difference

In American design, we tend to choose an era, and stick with it.  A home is traditional, or it's modern.  And there's not much mixing between the two.

In French homes however, tulip tables are mixed with lush daybeds and antique chandeliers.
