Of course you're going to have a closet full of bathroom cleaner, furniture polish, and refills for your swiffer.  But we think every girl (or boy) should have a kit in the linen closet with all the basics necessary to keep the house looking pretty or to make a small repair on the fly.

We have a vast and beautiful collection of vintage French treasures, but there are a few things that really tug at our heartstrings.  A vintage mirror is one of those things.  Over the years we've learned to identify frame silhouettes, periods, finishes and approximate age on sight.  

Porcelain as a material has been used in homes all over the world for centuries. We see it in installed fixtures as well as decorative elements and kitchenware.  

Thread count is one of those things; we know it's important, but we don't exactly know why. 

We have a rule when we're traveling: no chain hotels allowed. We always skip the chains that we see in every city in favor of a chic local spot. We feel that it gives us a better sense for the city we're visiting, and the carefully curated decor always leaves us feeling inspired. And for us, one of the highlights of traveling is always the cozy, luxurious bedding in hotels.
