Fragrance Notes
Bergamot
Odes to Common Things
A short pass through a mossy forest leaves a shimmering pattern of grounding sandalwood and glinting herbal undertones - bright, botanic and spirit-lifting. The sillage gives way to stillness and soft focus. A breath of wandering summer when you need it most.
A box of tea. A lemon. An open window that looks out on orchard, forest or sea. A crisp, green breeze carrying a sparkling blend of citrus with fragrant ginger, lime and Italian bergamot, steeped with tea and aromatic magnolia flower.
Sip slowly and appreciate the delicacy.
Bitter Orange & Lavender
Rooted in ancient lore, lavender's potent herb still casts a spell in our gardens, where we long to emerge from remoteness and place ourselves inside the signs of spring where a thousand orange groves blossom, flavoring the air and stirring the heart.
Tart citrus Seville orange oil stirred with bright notes of marmalade and a whirl of dark orange bitters are combined with fragrant Barreme lavender, finished with chalky soil, floral notes, and a hint of mango extract.
The gentlest of breezes, the fructifying wind.
Forest Floor
A name based on a scent descriptor of wine-tasting notes for Pinot Noir from Burgundy. Many scent descriptions on wines harken a place and time – the French have mastered this, hence the idea of terroir. All the poetry aside, it smells like wet dirt.
Green leaves and soil scented from rain, alive and ozonic. As in a glass of champagne, when a raindrop hits the ground, air bubbles rise upward, releasing a fizz of aromatic natural aerosols that carry hidden scents of the earth as they evaporate.
Misty forest ferns and dirt-covered wild mushrooms hover over a heavy peaty aroma of dark green moss and damp, woody tree bark. A divine and distinctive earth perfume for the home.
Is not the smell of forests delicious? It seems to ascend like the smoke of incense.
Garden Mint
Sparkling with lemon tea and the extraordinary extract of Schinus molle, also known as pink peppercorn. Ethically harvested and distilled in Lima, Peru, the essential oil is purified in France by a soft molecular distillation process and then blended into our fragrance for its gorgeous Evergreen character and feeling of sweet solace. An incredibly lush and herbal aromatic garden mint braided with berries, ginger, eucalyptus and delicate jasmine petals.
Holy Basil
To be fragrant, magical, and medicinal, Holy Basil is a spiritual ceremony of dark green camphorous herbal notes blended with wild grasses, cannabis, and sacred basil.
Adorning houses and temples throughout India, the plant's woody stalks are often made into beads used in meditation malas or rosaries, generating a warming influence on physiology.
Drops of dark syrupy violet oil, anise, and garden mint enhance nature's fragrant and spiritual rhythms emanating from this scent.
Clove buds and green vine tomato are spun into sweet holy basil flower buds to echo the divine origins of the sacred flowering plant, which can give you so much sweet solace for your cares, if you let it.
Kashmir
Our Kashmir candle is a seductive layered scent inspired by the Led Zeppelin song of the same name. We've all had that moment during a song when the hairs on our arms stand on end. A listening experience that surges through you when it wouldn't hurt to have a little holy water nearby.
Kashmir is a fragrant blend of ethically harvested sandalwood oil, white incense, and dry woody amber oil. Saffron tea notes anchor creamy, soft orientalist spices. Drops of exquisite magnolia flower, vanillin, and musk rest in the base to create a powdery haze. Totally sexy. Kashmir is a transcendent classic well-suited to the adoration of Eastern sovereignty and rock royalty alike.
Pine
An aroma for all seasons.
The scent of Pine is filled with a secret power - primeval and ephemeral, comforting and invigorating.
Crushed pine needles and the sweet fragrant syrup of Douglas fir, the sharp, resinous aroma of conifer trees and sap from the whispering pines of Northern Wisconsin.
Pendants of wood resin breathe evergreen and refract light like memory. Inhale deeply and lose yourself in pure nostalgia.
City of Night
An ode to the distinctive and mysterious spirit of Jim Morrison. Or just another lost angel?
With ghostly notes of dark hinoki oil and charred vetiver blended with cypress and fir needle to create a deep fragrant resin to evoke the salty, sweaty, animalic pheromone scent of Morrison's armpits. Male sweat holds a seductive sex appeal, achieved with the addition of black pepper and evocative woody floral accords finished with velvety leather and oaked whiskey—mystical, dark, and intense, the smell of a man with a heady sensuality.
About Us
We're a small sustainable, family run company based in northern California. We travel the world to bring you beautiful, mostly vintage things and a lot of inspiration for your home.
When we founded our company, we envisioned a small business with a human touch: each beautiful item selected by hand, each order carefully packed by someone who cares, each call and email personally answered by someone who can help, and most of all, each customer treated like a dear friend. And we were committed to giving a little back in the form of support to other small businesses like us, and donations to causes that tug at our heartstrings.
We believe that not making something new is the greenest thing of all, that a small business can make a big difference, that the human touch is a powerful thing, and that working side by side with your family is a really nice way to spend your day.
Meet our team. They're the best.
Occasionally we will earn a commission for products that we recommend on our blog. Our opinions are always our own, and we never recommend a product or service we do not use ourselves.

Shipping Information
It is never our intention to make money on shipping. We strive to always be fair and reasonable in both our pricing and our shipping charges.
Shipping Costs
- Free shipping on all orders $99 or greater unless an item is listed as "available for local pick up only in our Concord, California shop"
- Free shipping applies to small items and furniture unless the item is listed for local pickup.
- Shipping on orders less than $99 will be charged according to the shipping table offered at checkout.
- White Glove Furniture Shipments may incur a delivery surcharge to remote areas. Generally these include Montana, Wyoming, and Coastal Islands that require a Ferry Service. Other remote locations may also apply. If your location requires a shipping surcharge, we will contact you once your order is placed to let you know.
Shipping Timeline
- Most items will be shipped via UPS or USPS. Processing takes 3-7 days. Depending on your location, shipping can take 2-10 days from our location in northern California. Once your order is shipped, we will provide tracking information so you can see your package traveling to you.
- Large furniture pieces travel via LUGG in the Bay Area, a private trucking service in the LA area, and White Glove Freight in other areas. For Bay Area and LA area, we'll easily be able to predict the delivery window for your item. For other areas, it is difficult to pinpoint the exact travel time for your item, but we try our best to provide you with current information to allow you to track it as it travels. Once your item arrives at a local receiver, you will be contacted with a four hour delivery window and the item will be carried into your home, placed in the room of your choice, and any packing material will be removed.
Packing Material
- When packing your order for shipping we do our best to strike the balance between minimizing the packing material we use and packing the items securely so they arrive safely to your door. Our packing boxes can be recycled and our packing peanuts are biodegradable. Just add them to your yard waste bin or run some water over them and they will dissolve.

How to Measure for Furniture Delivery
Now that you've decided to invest in a new piece of furniture, let's make sure it fits perfectly in your room.
Follow a general rule of allowing 36" of traffic pattern around an arrangement of furniture for traffic flow.
If you are looking to sit a certain number of people at your table, the size of your chairs is as important as the size of the table. Generally, allow about 20" of length per person (about the width of a placement).
A trestle base will give you more flexibility than four legs to seat more people along each side of the table.
Consider the size of the doors when placing furniture adjacent to a cabinet with doors. You'll want to be able to completely open the cabinet doors without bumping into a nearby piece of furniture.
If your cabinet has to be turned on its side to be carried through a standard door into your room, make sure it will clear the ceiling when it's placed upright. To calculate the diagonal measurement of the cabinet, dust off the Pythagorean Theorem: height of the cabinet squared + width of the cabinet squared = diagonal measurement of the cabinet squared. If the square root of the diagonal measurement is less that your ceiling height, then you're good. If it is more, then the cabinet will not fit into your room unless it is made in two pieces.
For coffee tables, rules are made to be broken, but these three rules should give you some structure to work with: generally speaking, you'll want your coffee table to be roughly the height of your sofa deck (about 20"), roughly 18" from the sofa, and approx. 2/3 the width of the sofa.
As always, if you have questions just contact us. We can help.

Fall Film Festival
This year is my first autumn in New York City, and I have decided to put summer to rest and fully embrace it. I've taken my sweaters down off my top shelf, put my extra blanket back on my bed, and am leaning into long, leafy walks in the park.
