Champagne flutes were first introduced in the 1950's. The skinny, tapered shape of the glasses were thought to prevent spillage and to preserve the bubbles longer than the alternative, champagne coupes.

Over the years, champagne flutes have been designed and redesigned more than any other form of glassware. From stemless flutes, to inside-out flutes, to crystal-encrusted flutes, to squared off flutes, we have seen it all. Each design is beautiful, and reflects the context, trends and culture of its time.
