Here at Elsie Green, us gals are really leaning into winter whites in our homes and in our closets. It's a neutral that seems apropos for the upcoming season. However, there is another neutral that naturally seems to be pop up to say hello during the busy holiday season of social engagements and general merry making: metallics.

Peaceful, serene, quiet, still, puffy white blankets of snow. I know I am dreaming of living in a snow globe for at least part of the upcoming winter season. And being a displaced Canadian living in a decidedly un-snowy part of California, I know that if I want to frolic in the snow and get in the spirit of the season, travel is the way to get my snowy fix.

We are nothing if not sentimental. Each member of the Elsie Green family has their own set of traditions they have collected over the years, like the ornaments we have been collecting to adorn our homes. We are all looking forward to these moments with a joyous glow for the upcoming holiday season, and when compiled, these traditions read like a how-to guide for the month of December.

Recently, Michele, Kelsey, and I were talking about our Christmas plans on the packing table. Kelsey mentioned some new ideas she had for her gift wrap this year, and it got me inspired to step outside my comfort zone of butcher paper, newspaper, and twine this holiday season. Like I said, the Elsie Green ladies' flawless taste is everywhere - especially in the details.

There are simple joys in life that thrill me to the tips of my toes, and tipping the top of that list is receiving a personal handwritten note from a loved one.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is perhaps my favorite of the year. The excitement and anticipation of Christmas has worn off a little bit, and it's time to do absolutely nothing. You can lounge freely in your Christmas pajamas, eat leftovers with abandon, and catch up on all the content you've been neglecting in the hectic run-up to Christmas.
