We have all heard about the unexpected red theory for interiors. For the holidays, let's test that theory in our wardrobes. Often time old faithfuls pop to mind year after year when it comes to dressing for holiday parties. Black velvet dresses or a sexy masculine/feminine suit. Metallics. Patent shoes. Sequins and sparkles. Ivory. But, what if instead of the patent heels with your over sized suit, you wore a strappy red heel. Or a chunky red bracelet. And who can forget a bold red lip when worn with an ivory slip dress.

It's the singular pop of red, when adorned the right way, that can counterbalance a neutral and take up the energy of your whole being, in the same way it would a space in your home. A neutral room with the addition of a red lamp, or sculptural red bowl makes the space instantly more alive, interesting, and layered. The same theory will work in your wardrobe.

Don't shy away from the red bag or the red statement earrings. Reach for the blood red nail polish. It's the exact right kind of drama.
