This New York winter has been especially frigid - the kind where leaving the house requires two pairs of pants and a pep talk. But if there’s one thing that makes the cold months feel not just bearable, but actually lovely, it’s a good bowl of soup.

We are firmly in soup season, and lately I’ve been testing new recipes while refining a few longtime favorites.

Here are the soups currently in my rotation:

Wishbone Kitchen's Swamp Soup

Green, spicy, and full of nutrients - this is your perfect sick day soup.

NYT Cooking's Butternut Squash & Green Curry Soup

I make this for my Friendsgiving every year for a reason. It's the perfect butternut squash soup that's spicy, not sweet.

Allrecipes' Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Delicious, creamy, and perfect with a grilled cheese.

Ina Garten's Creamy Potato Fennel Soup

Whatever Ina's cooking, I'm making.
