In honor of Earth Day this year, we are recommitting ourselves to getting off the couch and getting outside. We're lucky to live in a part of California where we can access the ocean or mountains within a one to two hour drive. This spring and summer we are rediscovering our favorite places in the great outdoors and celebrating and honoring our beautiful planet.

For our local friends, I asked the Elsie team to tell me about their favorite hikes, beaches, and secret spots are in the Bay Area. Here they are - go ahead, feast your eyes and say a thank you to our gorgeous Mother Earth.

Yosemite Valley

"Our whole family of 5 has never been to Yosemite in all the years that we've lived in the Bay Area. So this spring, we're finally doing it! We booked a stay at AutoCamp Yosemite and can't wait to take in all the beauty." - Laurie & JP

Land's End & Sutro Baths

"Somehow in my 20 years of life growing up in the Bay Area, I had never been to Land's End. I went recently with a friend for the first time to take pictures of the scenery with my film camera, and I was in awe. It's my new favorite spot." - Andie

 Point Lobos

"Point Lobos is my happy place. I love to take my 2 year old son Griffin there and breathe in the fresh air. It's the perfect reset on a Sunday afternoon." - Kelsey

 Mount Tamalpais

"My husband Kia and I love to hike Mount Tamalpais together. It's right in our backyard, and the best way to escape the city for a little while." - Sepi

Muir Woods

"Muir Woods is one of the most peaceful places in the Bay Area. Whenever I need some fresh air and time to clear my head, a walk in the woods always does the trick." -Michele

Half Moon Bay - Cowell Purisima Trail

"The Cowell Purisima Trail is the hidden gem of Half Moon Bay. I always pack a picnic and spend the whole afternoon taking in the beautiful scenery." -Terri

Big Sur

"My husband Nick and I have been dreaming of a Big Sur road trip ever since we watched Big Little Lies. I can't wait to take my camera and capture all that stunning coastline." -Anna

 Point Reyes National Seashore

"My sister, mom, and I recently did a day trip up to Point Reyes Lighthouse and stopped for lunch at Nick's Cove. I had never been, but it was an absolutely perfect day!" -Katie
