There's something magical about Mendocino. Tucked along Northern California's rugged coastline, this charming little corner of California is where towering redwoods meet the Pacific, foggy mornings give way to afternoons by the sea, and life seems to move at a slightly slower pace.
For this edition of our Micro City Guide, we turned to our friends Ken Petty and Jacquelyn Covey, the two women behind the Cottage on the Coast. Built in 1908 and perched in a little village overlooking the Albion River, their charming coastal cottage has been lovingly restored into the quintessential Mendocino getaway. Owned by four best friends, the cottage is a shared dream come true, born out of a love for this very special stretch of coastline.

Introducing: The Mendocino Micro City Guide.
Our favorite recommendations, distilled down to one standout pick per category.
(Though Ken & Jac did inform us there is no dessert place in Mendocino, so we allowed 3 shopping spots).

We figured there was no one better to show us around beautiful Mendocino. We asked Ken and Jacquelyn to share their favorite local haunts, hidden gems, and all the little things that make Mendocino so magical. Consider this your invitation to slow down, take the scenic route, and experience the coast like a local.
