Recently, a friend tasked me with a request to help her find a chic tote bag that would be suitable for her needs as a freelance architectural designer. She is incredibly tasteful and has a well-trained eye for good design, material, and craftsmanship, and her freelance business has recently gained momentum so she wanted to treat herself to something nice to celebrate her hard work and success. I love celebrating these types of successes with my friends, so I was eager to help her find the perfect thing. She left me with simple but specific criteria to consider while I explored some options for her: the tote should be large enough to fit her typical materials (sheets, a roll of drawings, tape measures, etc) as well as her canteen, have a timeless silhouette and style, and preferably be made of leather.

We landed on a really beautiful bag by The Row that she will use and cherish for years - it's so simple, timeless and chic. Lucky for you all, my search yielded a selection of additional bags that are all equally desirable and worth your consideration if you find yourself also on the hunt for the perfect carry-all.

Keep scrolling for a few inspiration photos and then take a peek at a tote bag round-up that has something for everyone.
