If you have one full day to dedicate outside of Cape Town, make it the Cape Peninsula. The peninsula tour was one of my favorite days of the entire trip. Most hotels can arrange a guided peninsula tour before you arrive, and there are plenty of local tour companies and Airbnb Experiences that follow a similar route.
The drive itself is worth the trip, winding along dramatic coastlines with stops at some of the Cape's most iconic landmarks. Two of my favorites were the Cape of Good Hope and its historic lighthouse, where the views stretch for miles, and Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African penguins that are just as charming as you've heard. The rest of the day is best experienced through the photos, so I'll let them do the talking.
