After four winters in New York City, I’ve unintentionally become a connoisseur of cold-weather accessories. I have mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves for every possible forecast -- but recently, a new favorite has quietly taken over: the Tiny Scarf.

Specifically, the small square bandana scarf. The contrast of a classic bandana shape in a cozy winter knit feels both unexpected and chic. It adds warmth without bulk and, crucially, serves as a stylish alternative to a beanie -- which makes it especially beloved by the Girls With Bangs Club, of which I am a card-carrying member.

Below is my roundup of favorite tiny scarves currently living on my wishlist.
