There’s something endlessly inspiring about learning how someone with a great eye moves through the world - what they carry, what they collect, and how they create spaces that feel both effortless and deeply personal. We sat down with our founder, Laurie, to talk about style, travel, and the pieces she returns to again and again.

What’s in your bag right now?

A Merci suede pouch that I use as a wallet with a vintage cigarette case inside for my business cards. My passport.

A NY or Nowhere leather pouch with my bioderma atoderm lip balm, French Girl lip tint, a Rodin Oil stick, and a little tube of Byredo Gypsy Water hand cream

How would you describe your personal style?

Sexy, feminine man. I wear a lot of basics and menswear inspired styles. My uniform is jeans, a linen or cotton shirt, and sneakers or boots. My favorite shirt is the Je t’aime cotton shirt from Figaret in Paris. I usually buy a new one when I visit.

What are a few staples you always come back to (in fashion or home)?

Staub enamel cookware
Moroccan baskets
Tatine Fresh Mint candles
Vintage French Flatware
Vintage French Napkins

What’s one design rule you love and one you love to break?

The rule of threes - when styling, always use odd numbers.

How do you approach styling a home so it feels collected, not decorated?

The trick is in understanding that a good home is never done. It’s ok to leave some holes in your decor and wait for the perfect thing.

Favorite recent vintage or antique find?

I bought a vintage Matisse lithograph in the Vernaison market in Paris. Runner up is a framed newspaper ad for Taxi Driver from the 70s when it debuted at Cannes that I bought for my son Jack.

A place you return to again and again (and why)?

Paris! I hear people talk about how they are over Paris, and I simply can’t relate. It’s a lovely historic city that’s always changing. I love the house museums, the little shops, and the street markets.

What’s currently catching your eye in the shop?

The Jefferson Hayman collection of photography. Each piece is a little jewel and the artist is so lovely.

One piece from the shop you think everyone should own?

Vintage French flatware. It’s a collection you can build on over time.
