2020 Discoveries | Libby

If 2020 has given me one thing, it has brought me back to my love of reading. I have always been a devoted reader. My preferred Saturday afternoon as a child was a trip to Barnes & Noble with my mom for a cupcake and a couple new books for the week. I turned down more playdates than I could count to devour the newest installments in the Harry Potter series. And as much as I'm ashamed to say it, I have read every Twilight book more than once.

In recent years, due to a busy college schedule and the demands of Teach For America, I struggled to find time to read. While I was living in France last year, I reread each Harry Potter book while I traveled around Europe. When I came home for lockdown, I buried myself in an enormous pile of books to pass the time. I discovered many new favorites, reread some classics, and started getting into audiobooks for the first time on my long walks around the neighborhood.

This new audiobook habit led me to the best app of all time: Libby. Libby connects to any library card and allows you to instantly download millions of audiobooks and eBooks. If your book isn't available immediately, you can place a hold and join the queue - just like at the library.
