When I got married 32 years ago, my husband to be gave me a bracelet with a single heart charm as a wedding gift. For several years we added to the bracelet with mementos from special trips or life events. Since then, I've had a special place in my heart for charms and I add them to my keys, my necklaces and now my permanent bracelets.
I have a necklace I wear most days that started with only a very small anatomical heart on it, but over time I've added a St. Christopher medal (to protect me when I'm traveling) three tiny dog tags with the initials of my three children, and a charm engraved with the name Monique to represent the patron saint of mothers. It's become one of my very favorite things. And on a recent trip to the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, Andie scored a cute gold glasses charm that she wears on a neckace with some other charms.
I'm very happy to see charms are making a comeback now with women of all ages. In celebration of this fun trend, we're sharing some of our best sources to start your own collection.
