Why you'll love it.
These tape measures were once the tools of a French carpenter. Both tapes have long ago lost their aglets (the metal piece on the end that keeps the tape from rolling into itself.). As a solution, the former owners have replaced the missing piece with a paper clip (larger) and a knot (smaller). We thing this is a charming nod to the French ethos of making their things last as long as they can.
