Simply put, we miss traveling. Traveling has consistently been one of our main sources for filling our inspiration bank and we miss the feeling of curiosity and wonder that is ignited when visiting a new place. Over the last few months, as a form of escapism, we've started keeping notes on where we'd like to visit once long-distance travel becomes available to us again, and like any good friend we're sharing these loosely created itineraries with you. Read on for the inside scoop on the destinations we are looking forward to visiting in the (hopefully near) future.
In this new series, we'll share with you where we'll stay, what we'll see, and what we'll pack when we go.
Join us on our first stop: summer in the South of France.

La Colombe d'Or has been on our must-visit list for quite some time. In its early days, when it was just a cafe-bar and three-room inn, it hosted well-known artists like Matisse, Miró, Picasso, and Chagall. Artists often traded their work as currency for their stay, bestowing a rather remarkable art collection to the inn. While the inn has since expanded, the mood and ambiance remain discreet and unassuming. We imagine that we'll never want to leave once we have arrived.
After a few days of exploring the quaint bohemian villages of Provence, make your way to Hôtel Les Roches Rouges. This tranquil haven sits on a Mediterranean beach and is the perfect getaway for a leisurely stay. Your time here should mostly consist of lounging poolside with a book and cocktail in hand. The hotel sits right on the beach, allowing easy access to the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea in the summertime.
what we'll see
The South of France is said to be somewhat of a haven for artists and art lovers. While for us, this trip will mostly be about aimless wandering through French villages and dips in the Mediterranean Sea, we will certainly find time to visit a museum or two, and promptly follow with a leisurely lunch that includes plenty of cheese and wine.

In Aix-en-Provence, you can follow the Cézanne Trail which will guide you through sites that are relevant to the artist's work and time spent in the area, including his atelier.
If beach hopping is more your speed, visit one of these beaches on Condé Nast Traveller's list of 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in the South of France.
