The White Skirt | A Non-Statement Statement

Earlier this spring, I met a friend for breakfast in Washington Square Park. New York was finally inching toward summer, and it was just starting to become unbearably hot and humid. I always find the shoulder seasons leave me sartorially challenged. As soon as I start getting into my rhythm, the weather changes and I'm left staring at my closet uninspired every morning.

My friend approached with coffee & bagels in hand, and she was wearing the simplest, yet chicest thing: a white linen skirt. We all know the virtues of the white linen pant, but this was the twist I didn't know I needed. She looked effortlessly chic and breezy in the stifling heat, and so began my search for the perfect white skirt.

I found my perfect one at J. Crew, and it's gone into regular rotation in my wardrobe this summer. Linen is the perfect fabric for this time of year, but the white skirt can be a year-round staple. I've compiled a list of all of the white skirt iterations I'm coveting at the moment.
