I truly believe that the fall and winter months were founded on comfort food. It is the time of year where a warm, home cooked meal becomes a centre piece in our lives, and indulging in our favourite sweet treats is not just acceptable but encouraged.

A Modern Cooks Year by Anna Jones

This is a personal favourite of mine. The Modern Cook's Year shows you how to make the most of seasonal produce. This book offers a year's worth of one-pot meals, making it the go-to cookbook for those of us who don't love to cook but still want to get their veggies in.

Pasta Grannies: The Official Cookbook by Vicky Bennison

This is arguably the most wholesome cookbook of them all.  Pasta grannies is a collection of time-perfected Italian pasta recipes from people, who learned everything they know from the generations before them, and mastered their art by cooking for those they love most. If anything feels like coming home, it can be found in this book.

Green feast: Autumn/Winter by Nigel Slater

Nigel Slater offers two versions of his 'Green feast' cookbook. One for Autumn and Winter and one for Spring and Summer. The Autumn and Winter edition focuses on recipes that satisfy our craving for warm comfort food, without compromising on nutrients to nourish us.
