Nail Care at Home

We love the occasional indulgence of a mani-pedi at the salon, but with the shelter-in-place orders still in effect, we've had to master the art of nail care at home. We've managed to maintain an at-home nail care routine with a few simple tools and products.
A few things you'll need:
Our routine is fairly simple: start by trimming your nails and filing down any rough edges until you achieve your desired shape. Follow with a cuticle trim. At first, this part of the routine felt a little nerve-wracking, but after a bit of practice, we've nailed it(pun intended). Tip - trim your cuticles immediately after you shower or take a bath while they're soft. Last but not least, buff your nails until they are smooth and ready for polish.
For cuticle care, we love tenoverten The Rose Oil Nourishing Cuticle Oil. Also, for extra protection before applying a coat of color, we always apply The Foundation Nail Strengthening Base Coat.
We love getting playful with our nail polish colors, but we think everyone should always have these three varieties on hand: a nude, the perfect red, and a dark, moody hue. We've listed a few of our favorites below.
Barely there nudes for a natural but polished look:
Bubble Bath by OPI
Agnes by J. Hannah
Topless and Barefoot by Essie
Fulton by Tenoverten
The perfect red that is classically chic:
Geranium by Essie
Big Apple Red by OPI
Got the Blues for Red by OPI
Forever Yummy by Essie
Dark and moody shades for a sultry set of nails:
Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI
Wicked by Essie
Carmine by tenoverten
After two coats of polish, we finish with a top coat and moisturize with this hand and nail cream by Byredo.
