Long Live the Dinner Party

As I'm rapidly approaching my late twenties (SOS), I've developed a deep affection for a good old-fashioned dinner party. Nothing makes me happier than cooking a meal for my friends and laughing about nothing over heavy pours of red wine. Especially in the cold New York winter, cozy nights at home with friends have been some of my favorites.

As I've been building my first "grown up" apartment, I've been building slowly and intentionally. I want to take everything with me everywhere I go, so I've been slowly hunting for all the right things. When I have friends over to my place, my favorite thing is to pour them each a glass of wine in an etched vintage glass, and serve snacks on a French bread board.

For my first dinner party in my new apartment, I made sure I was stocked on all the essentials to make a beautiful, comfortable table for so many of my favorite people. I've compiled a checklist of all the important stuff, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy hosting your next dinner party. Have a glass of wine while you're at it. You're such a lovely host - you deserve it.
