Kelseys Favorite Mulled Wine Recipe

2 cups pomegranate juice
2 cups freshed pressed apple cider
1 750 ml bottle of your favorite red wine (don't cook with something you wouldn't drink)
2 T brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
3 whole cloves
1 anise star
2 large pieces of orange peel
1 pomegranate peeled and seeded
1 honey crisp apple sliced as thin as you can slice it
Orange zest to taste

In a large pot, combine the first eight ingredients and heat over low heat.  When the sugar dissolves and you can smell the aroma of the spices, the wine is ready to serve.  

Garnish with pomegranate seeds, thin apple slices and orange zest.
