Fearless Mixing

In my own home, I often find myself feeling more comfortable styling with neutrals, but after traveling to a few dream destinations and staying at hotels that seamlessly mix pattern, color and texture, I have felt more emboldened to play with these design elements in my own space. When I came across Architectural Digest's feature of Cordelia de Castellane's Eclectic Country home I was reminded that pattern-mixing doesn't have to feel chaotic and when executed well can create an enchanting environment that will pique one's curiosity and interest. Located a short distance north of Paris, the styling in de Castellane's home is seemingly effortless. It is filled with a mix of family heirlooms and flea-market finds - all pieces that seem as though they have a story to tell. It is an enchanting space that we'd love to see in person, but for now we'll just have to enjoy getting lost in these beautiful photo's from her home.
