We're a group of avid travelers at Elsie Green and enjoy curating our experience to tailor each of our specific interests and tastes. I've mentioned before that we've more than once found ourselves selecting a destination based on a beautiful hotel that we're excited to experience; one might say that we have a hotel bucket list of sorts.
Over the years, we've had the privilege of staying at a number of beautifully designed hotels. We're always thoughtful when we select a hotel because we love good design but we also value the inspiration that can be taken home from a well appointed space.

Bed Linens

Is it quite obvious to say that the best thing about a hotel is the luxurious bed that beckons you as soon as you step inside your room? We cannot resist a cozy hotel bed that's dressed with luxurious bedding and pillows that feel like we're resting our head on clouds. We deserve to feel like this all the time, so we've upgraded our bed linens to the softest washed linens and invested in some top-quality pillows. We recommend you do the same.

Scent

A few years ago on a trip to France, I stayed at Hotel Providence in Paris; the hotel was beautifully decorated and truly a feast for the eyes, but all of these years later, the singular thing that has claimed permanent residence in my memory bank is the scent of the hotel lobby.
I haven't found another candle that matches the scent exactly, but I've found something close that replicates the feeling I felt every time I walked through the hotel doors and stepped into the cozy lobby. You can create this ambiance for yourself by selecting a scent for your home.

Found Objects

Found decorative pieces are the singular design element that really add character and give a story to your space. Whenever I travel, I like to bring something home with me that is visually beautiful and will work cohesively into my space. My favorite found objects include books, vintage art or prints, and stoneware if my luggage situation will allow safe transport.
Vintage Art

Another obvious statement: we adore vintage art. La Bionda Hotel in Begur, Spain makes great use of vintage portraits throughout the hotel. The portraits are styled perfectly in unexpected places and they add so much character to each space. We're always on the hunt for the perfect piece of vintage art and each have 2 or 3 in our own homes.
